Lost 2x11 & 2x12

The Hunting Party - class episode. Didn’t find it that scary though (Zeke’s mouth is weird). Was just grinning through out it. Knowing all their names, brilllll.

Fire + Water - liked this one too, despite any negative reviews. It was ‘filler’, but necessary filler I thought, so in that respect it probably isn’t filler at all. Furthered the Claire/Charlie story well, Charlie is pretty much just an outcast. Didn’t think he was using, but had my doubts, they did it really well. What I DIDN’T like is the complete change in Locke. What happened to the ‘man of faith’? He didn’t let Charlie complete his ‘test’, and that beat down was so unnecessary. Sick. Was Locke holding something when he hit Charlie? Those were nasty gashes on his cheek.

Came up with a theory - faith is the key to survival. Hear me out.

Charlie was so desperate to get Aaron baptised. Why? Why would it be so important that he got dreams suggesting that it should be done? My idea is that religion/faith is the one thing that can protect people on the island fully somehow. People with faith are thought to be strong, and so could stand up against whatever is on the island. My basis for the theory is on the following points:

- Charlie was saved, resurrected if you will, after his death when he was hung.
- Locke stood up to the ‘monster’ fearlessly.
- Eko stood up to the ‘monster’ fearlessly. Whether this was a different ‘monster’ or not, we don’t know.

What do all these men have in common? They’re all religious, and they’ve all been ’spared’. Charlie was always religious despite his rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle, thievery and heroin addiction, Locke is faithful, possibly due to the re-use of his legs but we’re not entirely sure yet, while Eko is religious despite the atrocities in his past. Could religion and belief be the thing that could ultimately save them?

  1. hunting party - yeah i thought the last 10 minutes or so made up for the episode being about jack. fucking class when the zeke guy came out of no where, that is what the show is about. fucking class.

Fire & Water - yeah i didn’t like this episode at all. it’s shite we’ve already seen, we know he’s insecure, he’s a druggy, greeeeeat, move on. i really dont’ care about charlie, not why i still watch the show. the only part of the show i liked was when locke hit charlie a few times at the end for stealing claire’s baby.

you’re theory - yeah i can see where you’re coming from with the faith thing. but really it’s so uninteresting if it were true. seriusly, if that is shown to be the one of the main reveals at the end of the series i will be serverly disappointed.

sorry man i think i’m going off this show. the only reason i watch it is that i don’t want to miss something that will be relavent to the big mythology based episodes, where things actually happen. i really dont care about a lot of these characters - jack, charlie, kate, sawyer. locke & ecko, the faith shit. i’m interested in walt. good move to have him gone, even though it may only be cause he’s a kid and will grow fast which doesn’t fit into the time format of the show. anyway those are my thoughts.

the end pay off better be damn good.

  3. a little tidbit from zeke’s monologue from the hunting party. when he says something to the effect of “a man much smarter than anyone here said since the dawn of our species man’s been blessed with curiosity…” then quotes he is referring to alvar hanso. if you go to the hanso find you can find this. good shit.
